“I want to say that I’m very honored to be in the company of all of the other nominees in this category. We’re a small company in Vermont and we work really hard to bring beautiful products to market,” said Hubbardton Forge president Maria Mullen in accepting the award for Lighting Fixtures. “This year has been a challenging year for us because the heart of our design team, David Kitts, has had an incredibly challenging year [medically]. This award is for him. Thank you, David, for staying strong this year.”
In accepting the Green Award later on, Mullen added, “Sustainability is really important to the company and is personally important to me. I push my team to work on this all the time. However, I walked into a company that sustainability was already important to, and it’s part of Vermont and what we do up there. And we’re going to continue to push on it; right now we’re working on sustainable packaging, which is my holy grail. This is an honor that we appreciate very much.”

I would like to dedicate this award to my father, Abraham Kleinberg, who passed away last year, he has touched so many people in this industry.
