Matthews Fan Co. Adjusts Pricing Structure to Favor Retailers

With recent tariffs causing many manufacturers to pass along price increases, ceiling fan manufacturer Matthews Fan Company has made a change to help retailers boost their margins.

“We know that strong margins are critical to your success. We are committed to helping you be more profitable, notably in these turbulent times, when selling our products,” said company president Joel Maldonado in a letter to its dealer network. “Based on your feedback, we’re making a change that puts more money in your pocket.”

Effective April 11, the average MAP multiplier for Matthews Fan products will increase from 1.8 to 2.0. “This means higher profits for you on every sale, giving you even stronger margins while maintaining the premium value of our products,” Maldonado stated.

To support the adjustment, however, there will be an average 3% increase to dealer cost on most – although not all – collections.

“Notably, you may see up to a 10% cost decrease on the Dagny and a slight decrease on the Patricia, allowing for even more competitive pricing and improved sell-through,” Maldonado explained. “This change is designed with your profitability in mind, ensuring that our partnership continues to thrive.”

Maldonado concluded the letter by thanking retailers for their continued business. “We look forward to seeing you benefit from these improvements,” he said.
