Studio M Partners With German Ceramist on New Collection
Renowned ceramist Stefanie Hering is bringing her prowess in crafting tableware, giftware, and lighting in porcelain to the Studio M brand.
Los Angeles-based Studio M – the design-centric brand of Maxim Lighting – has announced a collaboration with renowned German master ceramist Stefanie Hering, whose porcelain dinnerware, giftware, lighting, plus crystal glassware are favorites among Michelin-starred chefs, cultural institutions, and design-driven collectors.
Internationally recognized for redefining porcelain through her Berlin-based studio – Hering Berlin – the ceramist is known for blending centuries-old techniques with bold, modern expression. With her background in collaborations with leading chefs and architects, she has built a reputation for disciplined forms.
According to Studio M, it is Hering’s sensibilities in her work that naturally align with the company’s philosophy of lighting serving more than a functional role.

Hering’s forthcoming collection with Studio M features pieces that reflect a sculptural approach to material — bringing a sense of calm, warmth, and intimacy to the spaces they inhabit.
“I was drawn to Studio M because of their openness and their family spirit,” said Stefanie Hering. “There is a real sense of care in how they work, and that allowed us to experiment, refine, and build a collection that feels honest to both our worlds.”
For Studio M, this partnership is a natural extension. “This collection represents what Studio M is about,” said Nathan Sperling, director of product management. “Working hand in hand with Stefanie, we explored how light can live within porcelain, not just as a source, but as an experience. It is a meeting of two worlds that share respect for craft, family, and the long view of design.”
The Studio M x Stefanie Hering collection will be available through Studio M and select partners.
