Continental Home Wins Lighting Category + Other Unique Resources at NY NOW

Looking for resources that are decidedly not mainstream to add to your lighting showroom assortment? The New York Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA NY) announced its Best in Show Selects from the NY NOW 2025 Winter Market, held February 2-4 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. Some of these artisanal products could be just what your discerning customers are looking for.

The winners include:

Continental Home for Lighting Design. Every piece in its collection is 100% hand-crafted and man-made from lamps and ceramic vessels to accessories.

Natures Collection won the Home Furnishings award. The Danish company brings Nordic design and inspiration with organic, natural, and authentic materials.

Cat Designer Verrier won for Decorative Accessory Design for its artisan handblown glass animals, crafted by French Canadian artist Catherine Labonté.

Rising Phoenix Arts won for Art Design. The company, which specializes in original fine art prints as well as inspirational custom made-to-order Chinese brush paintings and calligraphy, was cited for its artwork featuring “a beautiful rhythmic dance of colors on canvas.”

ARAS, featured at Deco Boko, won for Social Impact Design. Its tableware collection is crafted from 50% salvaged cedar bark trees, contributing to an environmentally responsible design solution while honoring Japanese craftsmanship.

Larch Wood Canada won the Sustainable Design award for its heirloom-quality cutting boards and chopping blocks.

Thumbprint Artifacts won the Artisan Handmade Design award. The company features a whimsical and color-rich ceramic tabletop assortment, crafted in South Africa by local artists in a style that celebrates heritage, craftsmanship, and cultural storytelling.

Alixx won the Candle & Home Fragrance award for its artisanal, soy-based and sustainable candles that offer a touch of French-inspired sophistication.

Be Home won for Tabletop Design. Its Jeweled Collection, crafted in India, is a stunning fusion of handblown glassware, rich jewel tones and sleek modern design.
