Visitors to Varaluz’s Lightovation showroom can enter daily to win the Hope lamp, a symbol of resilience and comfort for child survivors of abuse and sex trafficking.
The creation of the Hope lamp – a collaboration between sex trafficking survivor and Utah native Julie Whitehead, the Malouf Foundation, and Ciana Lighting x Varaluz of Utah – is meant to represent more than decorative lighting. According to Varaluz, it was designed as a symbol of resilience, comfort, and hope for survivors. The lamp is also closely aligned with Rooms Restored™, a signature initiative of the Malouf Foundation – which was established by bedding and home décor manufacturer Malouf – to transform bedrooms and healing spaces for child survivors of abuse and exploitation.
For every Hope lamp purchased, Varaluz will donate another lamp to a shelter or organization serving children on their journey toward healing.
“It’s our hope that these lamps find their way into homes everywhere — not just as beautiful pieces, but as reminders,” said Sam Malouf, president of Malouf and co-founder of the Malouf Foundation. “Reminders that survivors are not forgotten. Reminders that healing is possible. Reminders that the light never goes out.”
Varaluz founder and design lead Ron Henderson added that the partnership reflects the company’s longstanding belief that design can have a meaningful impact beyond aesthetics.
“The Hope lamp embodies everything we believe design can be,” Henderson said. “It is beautiful, purposeful, and deeply meaningful. We are honored to be a part of this initiative to help bring comfort and hope to children who need it most. Every lamp purchased extends that mission and helps create spaces where healing can begin.”
Win a Hope lamp during Lightovation
To celebrate the initiative and raise awareness for the cause, Varaluz will give away one Hope lamp each day during the upcoming Lightovation show (June 24-27) at the Dallas Market Center.
Attendees can enter by:
• Visiting the Varaluz showroom during Lightovation (DTM 4507)
• Taking a photo of their favorite Varaluz product
• Posting the image to Instagram
• Tagging @Varaluz
• Using the hashtags #Hope2Win and #VaraluzHope
One winner will be selected each day of market.
The company said each entry helps amplify the mission behind the Hope lamp while encouraging the lighting and design community to support survivors and the organizations working tirelessly on their behalf.
The Hope lamp collection and giveaway details will be featured throughout the Varaluz showroom.
