The lines between residential and commercial/hospitality projects have been blurring over the past eight or so years, but with the recent downturn in homebuying activity more lighting showrooms are expanding their reach to tap into adjacent areas such as multifamily, restaurants, offices, and boutique retail. For that reason, these newcomers to January Lightovation might be of particular interest.
There has been an influx of Brazilian lighting companies committing to Lightovation with permanent showrooms over the past several years – starting with Accord Lighting (TM 3353) and followed by Geo Contemporary (WTC 301) – and now ABILUX (Brazilian Lighting Industry Association) has leased a permanent showroom (TM 4028) that will offer a selection of Brazilian lighting companies with designs ranging from decorative contemporary to commercial fixtures.
Those looking for additional accent lighting resources in tape, channel, and LED sheets for contract projects will be pleased that Alloy LED will showcase its product line in the Spectrum shared space.
Another newcomer to Lightovation is American InnoLighting Company (TM 4806), which covers a wide assortment of multifamily and commercial-oriented categories including recessed, flushmount, wall and vanity lights, pendants, track, step lights, address signs, undercabinet, LED lighting mirrors, and exhaust fans.
GlobaLux Lighting & Fans will make its Lightovation debut (TM 4523) with industry veteran Justin Palm as senior vp/sales. The company targets the architectural, commercial, and multifamily arena with its offering of flushmounts; disk lights; wall pack, stairwell, and emergency lights; bulkhead, bollard, and exterior fixtures; recessed downlights; ceiling fans; plus vanity and wall lights.
Illuminated mirrors have become a burgeoning category, both in the industry and at Lightovation. LED Mirror Company (TM 4432-3) will be unveiling its line of dimmable LED-powered mirrors with anti-fog technology and adjustable color temperature in the shared Spectrum showroom.
Specializing in architectural decorative lighting for hospitality, contract, and residential applications, Phaino Lighting will be showing its line of pendants, table and floor lamps, sconces, and linear fixtures for the first time to Lightovation attendees in Spectrum (4432-1).
British manufacturer Tala – which offers pendants, table and floor lamps, wall lights, wet-rated outdoor portable lamps and exterior fixtures, plus accessories such as bulbs and wall dimmers – will display its line in the International Pavilion (TM 4926).
Lightovation will start on Saturday, January 10 – reflecting a new show date pattern – and ends on January 13, which also happens to be Design+Build Day. The timing of Design+Build Day – an event targeting the architectural trade that debuted last June – has moved to the end of Lightovation versus the day before Lightovation officially opened.
