Lightovation Trend: Feminine Flair

There was a pervasive romantic theme among some new products debuting at market — from floral shapes to jewelry-like designs and tones.

For the past two years, the fashion and beauty worlds have been filled with feminine embellishments such as bows, ribbons, and the color pink (2023 was the year that the Barbie® movie dominated much of pop culture). Now the lighting world has given a nod to fanciful designs and the sort of feel-good, stress-free emotion that these looks embody.

From the Fredrick Ramond brand of Hinkley, Myra (left and top) is distinguished by delicate strands of rock crystal, At right, the Azalea chandelier featuring double-layered glass blossoms in clear and white glass.
At Allegri Crystal, a division of Kalco, from left to right: a jewelry-inspired wall sconce with draped crystal beads; the Girare LED sconce featuring cut crystal; and the Tubo sconce, which combines alabaster, brass, and crystals.
At Savoy House, the Elsie 6-light pendant from Breegan Jane features curling white linen petals (left) and the Ashlay 4-light pendants has a delicate organza drum shade.
At Schonbek (left to right), the Starfall from the Forever Schonbek line, laser-cut metal in an intricate leaf patterns distinguishes a new series; and the Secret Garden table lamp.
At Kalco, emerald green glass “leaves” distinguish a semi-flush, and the new Flora series features capiz shells arranged to resemble flower petals.
At Avenue Lighting, the Rosewood pendants in pastel colors (left) were the talk of the showroom, as well as the new linear versions of the popular Avra series.
