Both Cleveland-based companies are under multigenerational leadership and have united their businesses to deliver a premium home experience.
Edelman and Cleveland Lighting, two longstanding family-owned Cleveland businesses, today announced they are joining forces to launch Edelman Home, bringing specialized expertise across plumbing, appliances, lighting and decorative hardware together under one brand.
Effective January 1, 2027, Edelman Home will combine the expertise, product assortment and longstanding customer relationships of Edelman, founded in 1953, and Cleveland Lighting, founded in 1994. The company will be led by co-CEOs Matt Bursky and Dan Edelman.
Together the businesses have 105 combined years serving Greater Cleveland, 49 employees, four showroom locations encompassing approximately 45,000 square feet and relationships with more than 400 manufacturer partners worldwide.
The merger unites two businesses that have served many of the same builders, designers, contractors and homeowners for decades, and two leaders whose relationship goes back even further. Bursky and Edelman have known each other for decades, exchanging ideas about their businesses and shared customers. Those conversations ultimately shaped their vision for Edelman Home.
“For years, we’ve watched the same builders, designers and homeowners move between our two businesses for the same project,” said Bursky. “Bringing the companies together just makes sense. Our customers get more of what they need from one trusted partner, without giving up the expertise or service they’ve come to expect. We have two strong businesses, great people and a shared vision for what we can build together.”
The goal with Edelman Home is to simplify the selection process while delivering the specialized expertise that premium projects demand. Rather than navigating separate suppliers, timelines and contacts across multiple categories, customers can work with one team across the project while continuing to receive category-specific guidance from specialists in lighting, plumbing, appliances and hardware.
Beyond its showroom business, Edelman Home will continue Edelman’s longstanding wholesale plumbing operation, serving professional plumbers and contractors through dedicated parts counters. The wholesale business provides pipes, valves, fittings and other plumbing supplies, extending the company’s plumbing expertise from product selection and design through the day-to-day needs of the trade.
“This is about making the experience better without losing what made each business successful in the first place,” said Edelman. “Our customers will have more choices and more resources behind them, along with experts who really know their categories and can help guide the entire project. But they’ll still have the relationships and personal service they’ve trusted for years. That’s what we want Edelman Home to be.”
The company will operate four showrooms in Westlake, Bedford, Lyndhurst and Fairlawn. Its product portfolio will combine recognized names with distinctive lines sourced from manufacturers around the world, giving trade professionals and homeowners the ability to consider selections across multiple categories as part of a cohesive project.
The Westlake showroom will become the first location to fully bring the Edelman Home concept to life. Design is underway on a new lighting showroom that will join the location’s plumbing, appliance and decorative hardware offerings, creating the company’s first showroom to present all four categories together. Completion is targeted for the second quarter of 2027.
Cleveland Lighting will retain its established name and operate as Cleveland Lighting by Edelman Home. The name preserves more than three decades of recognition in the Northeast Ohio market while becoming part of the broader Edelman Home company.
“We aren’t trying to be everything to everyone,” said Bursky. “Our goal is to be best in class in every category we serve and make our customers’ jobs easier. We’re bringing together two deep benches of expertise to make the entire experience more seamless for our customers.”
Edelman Home will maintain edelmanhome.com and clevelandlighting.com at launch.
