MAK Center for Art and Architecture will hold its Glow Up Benefit & Lighting Auction next month in Los Angeles.
The MAK Center for Art and Architecture is pleased to announce the Glow Up Benefit & Lighting Auction, held over two evenings celebrating architecture, design, food, and community at the Fitzpatrick-Leland House, one of the three R.M. Schindler-designed sites.
Built in 1936 and perched along the hillside between Laurel Canyon and Mulholland Drive, the Fitzpatrick-Leland House is among Los Angeles’ major significant works of modern architecture and one of the few speculative houses by R.M. Schindler.
Celebrating the first phase of a broader revitalization effort, the Glow Up event offers a glimpse of the Fitzpatrick-Leland House’s future as a place for research, cultural exchange, culinary programs, and public engagement. The revitalization includes critical preservation work and accessibility upgrades, alongside a newly renovated kitchen that will support expanded culinary and cultural programming.
Over two evenings, guests will experience a special culinary program centered on the newly renovated kitchen, alongside an artful lighting auction, bringing together supporters to celebrate a bright new chapter for the Fitzpatrick-Leland House in its 90th anniversary year.
On Friday, September 25, guests are invited to an intimate evening featuring a special seated dinner alongside an exclusive preview of the lighting auction.
On Saturday, September 26, the MAK Center will welcome a broader community of supporters for a cocktail reception and curated auction of collectible lighting by leading designers.
