At January Lightovation, Quorum celebrated its 45th anniversary with a festive party and the chance for one lucky customer to win a new Ford Bronco.
To recap: Quorum provided all of its customers with one ticket in the raffle – regardless of whether they placed an order at market or not. Those who placed Lightovation orders received extra sweepstakes entries, depending on the order volume.
In a company announcement, Quorum wrote, “We’re excited to congratulate Cindy Herrin of Builder Specialties in Decatur, Georgia as the winner of a brand new Ford Bronco Sport, and we’re grateful for her continued support as a loyal Quorum customer. Here’s to the partnerships and community that make this industry so special.”
Jose Lopez, president of Quorum, told me before January Lightovation that the company was holding the sweepstakes on Monday of market in order to give people who couldn’t come on the weekend (the most popular days of attending the show) a chance to earn extra tickets.
I reached out to Cindy Herrin to find out some details about her win — for example, how long she has been a Quorum customer and which day she came into the showroom.
“I started my career in lighting many years ago, but really became a Quorum fan when I went to work for Colonial Lighting in 2005, I have been selling Quorum since then,” Herrin said. “They have always had good lights for a great value, and I think this year for their 45 anniversary, they really stepped up with some very unique, beautiful lights. I can’t wait to see them in my showroom.”
Herrin first visited the Quorum showroom “and looked around with Karyn Hayes” on Saturday of Lightovation; however her scheduled appointment was not until Tuesday with her Georgia lighting rep Todd Tracy.
“Karyn and Todd both encouraged me to enter the giveaway. I walked by the Quorum showroom on Monday and remembered the drawing would be held later that day, so I went in and entered.”
Finding out she was the winner took her by surprise. “I was at an appointment with a rep when Jose called to tell me I was the winner of the Bronco Sport. I was in shock, and so excited! The rep I was with was so nice and said, ‘Let’s get you back to Quorum, we can do this later. He drove me back [to the Dallas Market Center] so I could go to Quorum. They were all waiting for me and I heard Todd say, ‘She’s here!’ It was all so exciting.”
