Looking for US-Made Products? Turn to LNN’s Made in USA Directory— and Visit These 6 at High Point Market

With each passing week since the initial tariffs took effect in February, there has been greater interest from American lighting showrooms in sourcing lighting and accessories domestically — particularly since the unexpected tariffs on Canadian products were announced.

That interest spiked after tariffs were levied on goods from Europe, India, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and other countries that lighting manufacturers rely on for manufacturing. As of press time, the leaders of both Thailand and the Philippines are set to negotiate with the White House shortly.

To help the lighting showroom community discover additional – or alternate – sources for higher-end products while the tariff saga plays out, Lighting News Now has compiled a directory of U.S.-based lighting manufacturers. You can find the directory here.

Interior designers, as well as lighting showrooms, have relied on smaller studios to handle custom work for their clients. Another benefit is the shorter lead-time for receiving orders versus waiting for container ships to arrive.

However, just because lighting is being made in the U.S. does not mean that the prices will not increase. Most domestic factories rely on materials (such steel, brass, and sometimes glass) as well as components (such as chain, screws, and fasteners) for their manufacturing process — and many of those items are made overseas.

At next week’s High Point Market, you can visit the showrooms of domestic manufacturers such as Fine Art Handcrafted Lighting, Fangio Lighting, Hubbardton Forge, Lantern and ScrollSchonbek, and The Natural Light.

If you know of a domestic lighting manufacturer that is not in our directory, please let us know. We hope that compiling this directory helps lighting showrooms have more options by presenting smaller companies that might not be as well-known.
