Recipient Named for the Bill Winsor Endowed Retailing Scholarship

Texas A&M senior Maci Nash is the inaugural recipient of the scholarship honoring the late Dallas Market Center president, CEO, and chairman emeritus.

Dallas Market Center announced that Maci Nash, a senior marketing major at Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School, is the first recipient of the Bill Winsor Endowed Retailing Scholarship. Nash, a native of Bryan, Texas, receives the award for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Created in 2025 to honor Bill Winsor, the former president, CEO, and chairman emeritus of Dallas Market Center, the scholarship supports undergraduate upperclassmen in the Mays Business School and the Center for Retailing Studies who intend to pursue a profession in retail or wholesale.

Nash first visited Dallas Market Center during a campus tour for Texas A&M’s Zale Scholars program, and she credits the visit with deepening her interest in the industry.

“Seeing a wide variety of vendors and businesses all in one place was incredible,” said Nash. “By walking through the market…it made me even more excited about pursuing a career in this field. Receiving this scholarship is especially meaningful after that experience because it reminds me how supportive the retail community is of students such as myself. I hope to make the most of the opportunities I’ve been given and, one day, be in a position to support future students in the same way.”

“Bill was passionate about entrepreneurship and the power of retail to support communities across the U.S.,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “He also mentored generations of professionals, and this scholarship will continue that legacy by supporting future leaders in retail like Maci.”

The scholarship began as a grassroots effort organized by friends and colleagues of Winsor. George Kacic, CEO of Margins USA; Chuck Fraelich, president of tag; and Alison Dodson, owner of retailer A. Dodson’s, first approached Dallas Market Center about creating the scholarship. They have since been joined on the steering committee by Troy Lee, president of Savoy House; Maria Mullen; Rick Seidman, CEO of Quoizel; Roxie Orms of Clint Orms Engravers & Silversmiths; and Cole Daugherty, senior vice president of marketing of Dallas Market Center.

The scholarship will be endowed at $100,000 or more; donations of any amount are welcomed .
