Designer Alliance Debuts Lighting by Martyn Lawrence Bullard
The lighting collection is only available through Bellacor, Designer Alliance’s exclusive retail partner.
Renowned interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard – who has previously created lighting collections for French manufacturer Daum and for the Corbett brand of Hudson Valley Lighting Group – has launched his first lighting collection for Designer Alliance.
The line debuted in New York City last week during an evening event at Speakeasy Magick.
Designer Alliance is an invitation-only collective of renowned designers who are creating original lighting with the singular belief that the future of design belongs in the hands of designers. Each collection is conceived by a celebrated designer and brought to life with the same level of craftsmanship and integrity they demand of their own work. More than a product platform, Designer Alliance describes itself as a movement dedicated to preserving creative authorship, protecting design integrity and advancing the exchange of knowledge across generations. In partnership with the New York School of Interior Design and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Designer Alliance supports education and mentorship while championing the enduring impact of thoughtful, designer-led work. Martyn Lawrence Bullard serves as Founding Icon.
“I’ve always believed lighting is the jewelry of the home. The final luminous layer that gives a room its character, glamour, and soul,” said Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Founding Icon of Designer Alliance.

According to the organization, lighting serves as the foundation for Designer Alliance because “it is where design thinking becomes visible, transforming the way a space is experienced. The inaugural collection reflects Bullard’s distinctive point of view and passion for creating environments that are layered, expressive and deeply personal.”
Bellacor – whose digital assets were acquired by retailer Capitol Lighting in 2024 – is Designer Alliance’s exclusive retail partner and will make the inaugural Martyn Lawrence Bullard collection available to consumers and the design trade. The collection encompasses decorative, interior and exterior lighting.

“Designer Alliance was created to put designers back at the center of the creative process, giving them the opportunity to fully realize their vision from the very beginning,” said Paul Adams, chairman & portfolio CEO of Bellacor. “This is about more than creating beautiful products. It is about celebrating the designer’s point of view, preserving the creative process and ensuring that the integrity of an idea remains intact from concept to customer.”

According to the Designer Alliance collective, each collection it produces is accomplished through an established network of manufacturing, sourcing and distribution partners that manages engineering and production while allowing designers to remain focused on their creative vision. The collective’s commitment extends beyond the products themselves, with a mission to reinvest in the design community through education, mentorship and the exchange of knowledge across generations. Designer Alliance has established partnerships with the New York School of Interior Design and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) to support these efforts.
With this debut of its first collection, Designer Alliance is establishing a new model for designer-led product development; one that puts creative vision, authorship and craftsmanship at the forefront. Bullard’s collection marks the beginning of a growing network of renowned designers united by a shared commitment to thoughtful, original design.
