Minka Recalls Bardon Series Pendant Fixtures

The lighting company is offering full refunds for the estimated 170 units affected by the recall.

Although there has been only one case of a light fixture detaching from the downrod – and no reported injuries – Minka Lighting Group is recalling its Bardon series of pendants citing a detachment hazard of the frame potentially separating from the downrod during installation, which poses a risk of serious injury or death from impact. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, along with Minka, announced the recall on May 14.

The recall involves three models: the 8-light Bardon pendant (model number N1847-776), the 12-light pendant (model number N1848-776) and the 5-light island (model number N1849-776). The 4-light Bardon semi-flush fixture (model number N1844-776) does not have a downrod and therefore is not affected.

The model number is printed on the fixture’s ceiling plate. The 8-light and 12-light versions have one downrod and the 5-light island fixture has two downrods. Each model has a Polished Brass finish and slatted frosted glass shades.

Approximately 170 fixtures are affected by the recall and were sold through specialty lighting and home décor stores from January 2025 through January 2026 for between $3,000 and $5,000.

Consumers who have a Bardon pendant installed should stop using the fixture immediately and contact Minka Lighting Group to receive a full refund, which will be mailed to the consumer. Furthermore, the manufacturer advises that the area directly beneath any affected pendants be cleared. Customers should contact Minka for instructions on how to determine if the light fixture is included in the recall and for disposal instructions.

Consumers can contact Minka Lighting Group toll-free at (888) 390-3989 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT, email at minkabardonrecall@minka.com, or online at www.minka.com/bardon-recall or www.minka.com and click “Bardon Product Recall Notification” at the bottom of the page for more information.
