Julie A. Palm Joins Lighting News Now as Style Editor

A seasoned writer and editor covering the home furnishings industry, Julie A. Palm will cover style trends

Lighting News Now, which will celebrate its first anniversary in January, has added renowned writer Julie A. Palm as style editor.

Palm, who has more than 30 years of experience as a writer and editor, started her career in the home furnishings industry covering accessories – including lighting – for Home Accents Today. Previously, she was editor-in-chief of the International Sleep Products Association’s publications BedTimes and Sleep Savvy.

She joined the growing News Now Media Group – parent company of Lighting News Now – as an editor with Design News Now in 2022 and continues to lend her editorial expertise to its readership of interior designers.

As style editor, Palm will cover trends in lighting design, as well as in the broader home furnishings industry to help readers stock their showrooms with the products consumers will want tomorrow. She’ll also focus on new product introductions and be in conversation with product designers to bring the latest styles and the behind-the-scenes decisions that shape those collections.

“Linda knows the lighting industry better than anyone and she has built a great publication with Lighting News Now,” Palm said. “I look forward to adding my perspective of what I think are the most exciting aspects of the industry: style and design.”

Continuing its expansion of coverage in the home furnishings and bedding industries, News Now Media Group has added two more industry veterans to its editorial team. Kathryn Greene has joined as retail editor for Home News Now and Bedding News Now, and Jane Dagmi, director of High Point x Design, will be writing a bimonthly column for Design News Now.
