Currey & Co. Appoints New President & Director of Furniture

Atlanta-based Currey & Company has promoted Ross Bradford from vice president of business development to president. Bradford joined the company in January of this year and has utilized his experience in developing sales and marketing solutions with a focus on driving technology integration and making policy improvements.

Company CEO, owner, and former President Brownlee Currey said, “I am truly delighted that Ross has accepted the role of president. Our company will benefit enormously from his strengths — his deep experience in sales planning, his clear-eyed use of data to guide decisions, and his steady bias towards action. Ross and I will be working closely together and I’m clear we make a strong team. I will continue in my role as CEO, focusing on the creative, operational, and financial aspects of the business while Ross leads our sales and marketing efforts forward.”

In the past, Bradford has served as an executive for Samsung, Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Hisense, Home Depot, Serta Simmons Bedding, and other major brands. This latest appointment is also not the first time Bradford has worked at Currey & Company — as a teen, he worked for company founder Robert Currey.

The company has also hired Drew Alden as director of furniture. Alden comes from a 10-year tenure with Havertys Furniture, where he spent the past five years as a buyer, overseeing the product range for key categories including occasional tables, media furniture, accent furniture, along with office and outdoor furnishings. Among his responsibilities were product forecasting, product training, merchandising presentations, and analyzing sales and trends. Prior to that role, Alden was product development and sourcing manager at Havertys, where he managed the entire process for direct import merchandise from concept through production for five years. Before Havertys, Alden held positions at American Woodcrafters and Art Van Furniture.

Pam Bailey, vice president of product development and design noted, “All of us at Currey & Company are thrilled to welcome Drew as our new director of furniture. He possesses the rare dual talent of being a very accomplished furniture designer and a collaborative, creative merchant. His eye for style and trends along with his acumen for assortment planning will help drive forward the growth of the company’s furniture program.”

Alden added, “There are few companies I have admired as much as Currey & Company over the years. I have been overwhelmed by how lovely, talented, and supportive everyone I have met has been, including our factory partners and overseas teams. I am excited to continue the Currey & Company tradition of introducing inspired and original designs that lead the industry in trends while also paying tribute to the history of design. That balance of fresh and familiar is what I consider the sweet spot of design, and there is not a better place to do that.”

In addition, as previously announced in LNN last week, Mary M. Wilson has joined the company as vice president of key accounts. She brings decades of global leadership in product development, design strategy, merchandising, and international sales.

Noted Stanford Poulsen, senior vice president of key accounts and ecommerce, “Mary is an industry icon! Her relationship-driven leadership style will enhance our ability to better serve our customers. She brings a wealth of industry experience and knowledge ranging from initiating product development to meeting the business needs of the customer. Most importantly, Mary’s genuinely warm and personable style makes her the perfect addition to the Currey team. We are so fortunate to have her on board.”
