Fall High Point Market Style Report: Portable Lamps
While longtime High Point Market attendees are accustomed to seeing portable lamps on display, at this month’s edition there appeared to be greater emphasis on the category.
In a year when consumer spending on large remodeling projects and financing new or larger homes have flatlined due to high interest rates, table and floor lamps are having a moment as easy, convenient and affordable ways to instantly perk up any room in the home.
While scale seemed to be all over the map – from overly tall floor lamps and full-bodied table lamps to suit newer, large rooms to slim, narrow profiles and heights of under 30 inches to complement smaller spaces – there were several colorways and patterns that were pervasive.
Natural materials (think rattan, grasses, and wood) as well as organic motifs (images of flower petals, blossoms, and branches) were abundant throughout market. Popular colorways fell into two primary camps: neutral beiges and browns that evoke Pantone’s 2025 Color of the Year Mocha Mousse, and tranquil blues and greens that were deeper than pastels but soft enough to work well with botanically inspired or nature-themed room decor. Here are some of the new portable lamps that LNN spotted at High Point Market.

Natural materials and oversized scale distinguished new lamps from Jamie Young Co. The entrance of Jamie Young Co’s showroom epitomized the trend for a soft blue palette as well as an organic theme for the shapes and patterns on the lamps.
