Florida-based domestic lighting manufacturer Barn Light Electric – a long-time supplier to the residential, commercial, and hospitality channels – has been acquired by lighting solutions company Illumus, parent of Green Creative, ILP, and NUROAir headquartered in Sanford, Florida.
In addition to custom work and vintage-inspired designs, Barn Light Electric is known for its iconic porcelain enamel barn lights that are handcrafted from solid steel and coated with multiple layers of porcelain enamel glass. The manufacturer has been featured on many home shows including HGTV, DIY House Crashers, This Old House, Man Caves, Extreme Makeover Home Edition and in publications such as Martha Stewart Living, The Pioneer Woman, Coastal Living, Midwest Living, and Better Homes & Gardens.
The Barn Light business was especially attractive to Illumus because it expands the company’s Buy American Act (BAA) and Build America, Buy America (BABA)-compliant offerings to the commercial marketplace. With increasing demand driven by federal infrastructure investment, government-funded projects, and customers prioritizing domestic sourcing, the acquisition allows Illumus to deliver more U.S.-produced solutions that align with compliance requirements.
“This marks an exciting milestone in our growth journey,” said Devin Jernigan, vice president/Strategy, Marketing, and Innovation at Illumus. “By uniting Barn Light’s American-made craftsmanship with ILP’s performance-driven products and Green Creative’s innovative solutions, Illumus continues to lead with innovation while expanding U.S.-produced, BAA and BABA-compliant lighting for our customers.”
