Kalco Hosts High Point Event With Jennifer Farrell & Christopher Grubb, Offers Free VIP Trip to France

Lighting manufacturer Kalco has joined forces with designer and TV host Jennifer Farrell of Jennifer Farrell Designs on her latest showhome project, I.C.E. House (Interconnected Changeable Environments), located on a historic property in the South of France. Described as “the future of residential living,” I.C.E. House is a long-term project (18-24 months) that “blends high-end design with adaptable, self-sustaining spaces that evolve over time, creating a forever home that marries ancient and modern elements.” It is expected to be completed by fall 2026.

The I.C.E. House compound is comprised of three separate structures – Indy House, Center House, and Extension House – that are connected by open-air covered breezeways enclosed by sliding glass walls to become connective rooms themselves. The I.C.E. House website explains, “The flexible design of the property allows for individual home footprints to shrink and grow over time; the structures can combine or separate to function as one, two, or three homes, and residents of I.C.E. House can live in as little as 300 square feet, or as much as 5,000. An outdoor entertaining pavilion creates even more living space, enhancing the indoor-outdoor livability ingrained in the architecture.”

During High Point Market, Farrell and designer Christopher Grubb of Christopher Grubb Design will host a discussion in the Kalco showroom (IHFC H-232) at 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 26. Their presentation, Creating a Lighting Journey: Storytelling Through Lighting Design, will provide a first look at Kalco’s lighting takeover at Extension House.

“I’ve always been passionate about lighting, and at I.C.E. House, we’re telling an ancient-meets-modern story with lighting as our narrator,” Farrell explains. “This collaboration with Kalco is incredibly special because it’s not just a partnership — it will become a full realization of a show home design vision that I’ve been developing for decades, and Kalco will be front and center, as we create a lighting journey together.”

Attendees will also learn more about the inspiration behind the custom sculptural lighting fixture designed by Grubb for Kalco, which will be the main focal point in Center House, the largest of the three environments.

“This statement light fixture will draw inspiration from the region, incorporating glass and shapes to complement architectural details while adding some California sensibility,” Grubb said. “Jennifer’s show homes always demand the finest from all industry sectors, and the I.C.E. House is no exception.  It emphasizes handcraftsmanship, and Kalco’s quality materials and unlimited handmade custom capabilities are perfect for this unique space.”

Event attendees can win a free Trip for Two to France for the I.C.E. House VIP Reveal Party, slated for Fall 2026. Following the talk and giveaway announcement, guests are invited to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails in Kalco’s High Point showroom.
