Double Your Impact at the Goombay Bash — Thanks to WAC Group

The H Foundation has announced an opportunity for Goombay Bash supporters to double their impact in the fight against cancer at the upcoming event on Saturday, July 26 — thanks to the generous commitment of WAC Group, a long-time supporter of The H Foundation and the Goombay Bash.

As part of the 23rd Annual Goombay Bash, presented by Becknell Industrial, WAC Group has pledged a $50,000 matching gift to support our signature Paddle Raiser. This means that every $1,000 raised during this high-energy portion of the evening will be matched dollar-for-dollar, helping H Foundation reach new heights in funding basic science cancer research.

“WAC Group has been a guiding light in our mission,” said Cortney Hausser, Executive Director of The H Foundation. “This incredible match will energize the room and inspire even more generosity in the fight to find a cure.”

The annual Goombay Bash is one of Chicago’s most highly anticipated summer charity events — an island-themed celebration held at Navy Pier that draws more than 1,000 guests for a night of entertainment, inspiration, and impact. The event features live and silent auctions, celebrity guests, and an unmatched spirit of giving.

During the Paddle Raiser portion of the event, guests will be invited to raise their paddles to make a live donation at various giving levels. With WAC Group’s match, donors at the $1,000 level with have their donations fully matched, up to $50,000, so their gifts will go twice as far toward making a difference in the fight against cancer.

“We are deeply committed and very proud to support The H Foundation in its efforts to beat cancer and champion critical research,” explained Becky Li, President of WAC Group. “We look forward to coming together with all of our industry friends at this year’s Goombay Bash!”

WAC Group – which includes the brands WAC Lighting, Schonbek, and Modern Forms – has a firm commitment to philanthropy. Their partnership with The H Foundation is a testament to their core values: bold ideas, transformative vision, and a dedication to making the world a better place.

Founded in 2001, The H Foundation has raised over $13 million to support basic science cancer research at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a powerful movement, united by one bold belief: Cancer is Personal.

This year’s Goombay Bash will be held Saturday, July 26 at the Aon Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier. General Admission tickets are $195 and VIP are $350 – sponsorships are available starting at just $500. For more details, visit  www.GoombayBash.com.
