Aztec Lighting Sold to Crescent Legacy Holdings

In an unexpected letter sent to business partners and employees of Aztec Lighting, founder Russ Bolinger, explained, “After careful consideration, I have decided to sell Aztec Lighting to Crescent Legacy Holdings LLC, effective Wednesday June 18, 2025. This decision was not made lightly. I have been proud to lead this company for the past 39 years. I am grateful for the contributions of each and every one of you. However, I believe this sale is in the best interests of my family, the company and its employees.”

Washington-based Crescent Legacy Holdings LLC, headed by Grant Jones, acquired all  four locations of Chuckanut Lighting in Washington to join Crescent Lighting last fall. Noted Bolinger in his letter, “They are committed to continuing the operations of Aztec Lighting and providing our customers, suppliers and employees with the same high level of service that they have come to expect.”

After beginning his career as a local homebuilder, Bolinger founded Aztec Lighting in 1986. “While working as a superintendent, I saw there was a need in the lighting industry for a company that was as committed to customer service as it was providing quality lighting products. Aztec Lighting was born with this philosophy in mind. I believe the best advertising is the well taken care of and satisfied customer that tells someone else about their positive experience with Aztec Lighting,” Bolinger stated on Aztec Lighting’s website.

Many of Aztec Lighting’s employees have been with the company for more than 15 and 20 years, with general manager Kristy Grogan having joined 39 years ago.
