Kate Marker to Debut Lighting for Mitzi

Chicago-based interior designer Kate Marker will launch her first collection as a part of Mitzi Tastemakers during fall High Point Market. The line includes both lamps and fixtures.

Hudson Valley Lighting Group (HVLG) will unveil interior designer and founder of Kate Marker Interiors, Kate Marker as the Mitzi brand’s newest Tastemaker. The partnership brings Marker’s signature approach of warm, layered, and livable interiors into the world of lighting through timeless silhouettes, natural materials, tactile textures, and thoughtful details designed to bring character and ease to every room.

The collaboration is the latest addition to Mitzi Tastemakers, a program that brings together a dynamic group of interior designers, artists, and creative voices to translate their individual points of view into original lighting collections.

The principal designer of Kate Marker Interiors, Marker has spent more than two decades developing an aesthetic rooted in approachable elegance, classic architecture, and authentic living. Her philosophy that a home should tell the story of the people who live there made her a natural fit for the Tastemakers program and served as the foundation for her debut Mitzi collection.

“The vision was to create lighting that feels timeless, warm, and effortlessly versatile,” Marker explained. “I wanted pieces that quietly elevate a room rather than overpower it.

Throughout the design process, every decision came back to creating fixtures that designers and homeowners could use across many different styles of homes while still feeling distinctly Kate Marker.”

That sense of personal storytelling extends to the collection’s names themselves. Each family within the 25 SKUs is named for someone who has played a meaningful role in Marker’s life, including her children, nieces and nephews, grandparents, and other loved ones.

“Kate’s approach to design felt like such a natural fit for Mitzi,” shared Jennifer Dubas, senior vice president of product design and development. “Our team was thrilled to welcome her to our Tastemakers family, as we’ve all been long time admirers, and are excited to bring her warm, timeless perspective to life through this first collection.”

The partnership also reflects the broader vision behind Mitzi Tastemakers, creating a platform where a designer’s highly personal point of view can meet the capabilities and lighting expertise of Hudson Valley Lighting Group. With Marker, that collaboration results in a collection that is unmistakably rooted in her world while offering the versatility, quality, and considered design central to Mitzi.

The Mitzi X Kate Marker collection will be available as of October at Mitzi.com and HVLG.com as well as Kate Marker Home.
