Industry veteran Tony Davidson will be retiring as president of Toronto-based lighting and heating solutions manufacturer Eurofase<\/a> effective April 30. The decision was expected and announced internally some weeks ago, and a search has been underway \u2013 led by Davidson \u2013 to appoint a successor. Robert Zeidel will serve in the role of interim president until a new president is named.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the five years since Davidson assumed the role of president, he has been commuting from his home in Cleveland to Eurofase\u2019s headquarters in Toronto every other week. \u201cIt\u2019s been a good five years, but I\u2019m ready to retire,\u201d Davidson said.  \u201cI\u2019m moving on to something new \u2014 but it won\u2019t be in the business. I have some personal goals that I would like to do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Davidson, who remains a stakeholder in Eurofase, will transition to the role of executive chairman of the board. \u201cI\u2019m stepping back from the day-to-day grind, but will still be active on the board and involved in the strategy of the business,\u201d he stated, adding, \u201cFrom my perspective, the lighting business is very unique. People who get into the industry early in their career don\u2019t leave. It has that attractiveness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He continued, \u201cEurofase has always been about delivering exceptional products and experiences to our customers. I have full confidence in the management team in place and their unwavering commitment to understanding and exceeding customer expectations. Their collective focus on the customer ensures that Eurofase remains well-positioned for continued success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Eurofase board of directors has initiated the search for Davidson\u2019s successor, prioritizing a seamless transition that upholds the company\u2019s commitment to innovation, quality, and service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
