{"id":3988,"date":"2026-07-28T19:08:47","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T19:08:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lightingnewsnow.com\/?p=3988"},"modified":"2026-07-28T19:08:47","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T19:08:47","slug":"dmcs-cindy-morris-named-finalist-in-leadership-excellence-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lightingnewsnow.com\/?p=3988","title":{"rendered":"DMC\u2019s Cindy Morris Named Finalist in Leadership Excellence Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dallas Market Center President and CEO Cindy Morris is recognized in the Strategic Leadership category for her role leading the Stand With Main Street tariff advocacy campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dallas Market Center (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasmarketcenter.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DMC<\/a>) has announced its president and CEO Cindy Morris has been named a finalist for <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmagazine.com\/section\/business-economy\/?ref=nav\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">D CEO<\/a><\/em> magazine\u2019s inaugural Leadership Excellence Awards in the Strategic Leadership category. <em>D CEO<\/em> is one of three titles under the flagship <em>D<\/em> magazine, which also publishes <em>D Home<\/em> and <em>D Weddings<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>D CEO\u2019s<\/em> new awards program honors North Texas executives who drive performance with purpose, recognizing leaders distinguished not only by business results but by intentional leadership, strong cultures, ethical decision-making, and long-term impact. The inaugural program drew more than 400 nominations spanning public and private companies, emerging businesses, nonprofits, and organizations of every size across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following multiple rounds of judging, <em>D CEO<\/em>\u2019s editors selected finalists across a dozen categories \u2014 from strategic leadership and operational excellence to culture, community impact, and visionary leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Morris is among seven finalists for the Strategic Leadership Award, a group that includes the president of the NHL hockey team Dallas Stars, the commissioner of the golf association LPGA, and the CEO of an IT services company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Morris\u2019 nomination cited DMC\u2019s strategic reinvestment in the marketplace and recent gains in market share alongside her leadership of the Stand With Main Street campaign, which was launched to support retailers, sales reps, and manufacturers against the impact of tariffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under her direction, DMC organized a grassroots petition, engaged in lobbying efforts, deepened relationships with advocacy organizations including the National Retail Federation, filed an amicus brief in the related federal lawsuit, and kept customers informed with timely updates on evolving tariff policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLeading through disruption means showing up for the people who make this industry work \u2014 the retailers, reps, and manufacturers who depend on Market,\u201d Morris said. \u201cThis recognition belongs to the entire DMC team and to everyone who stood with us to protect Main Street.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All finalists will be featured in the September issue of <em>D CEO<\/em>, with winners revealed at an exclusive awards celebration that month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Related articles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lightingnewsnow.com\/?p=1007\">DMC Launches Anti-Tariff Initiative \u201cStand With Main Street.
