Another magnificent gala is in the books for the ARTS Awards, now in its 36th<\/sup> year and organized by Dallas Market Center and ART, the Creative Home Furnishings Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lighting Fixtures<\/strong> \u2014 Hubbardton Forge<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to say that I\u2019m very honored to be in the company of all of the other nominees in this category. We\u2019re a small company in Vermont and we work really hard to bring beautiful products to market,\u201d said Hubbardton Forge president Maria Mullen in accepting the award for Lighting Fixtures. \u201cThis year has been a challenging year for us because the heart of our design team, David Kitts, has had an incredibly challenging year [medically]. This award is for him. Thank you, David, for staying strong this year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In accepting the Green Award later on, Mullen added, \u201cSustainability is really important to the company and is personally important to me. I push my team to work on this all the time. However, I walked into a company that sustainability was already important to, and it\u2019s part of Vermont and what we do up there. And we\u2019re going to continue to push on it; right now we\u2019re working on sustainable packaging, which is my holy grail. This is an honor that we appreciate very much.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking the podium, Brad Kleinberg gave a shout out to his daughter Hailey, who represents the third generation of family in the lighting business. \u201cI am so very grateful that I am joined tonight by my other kids, who have not yet decided to come into the company (Max, Harley, Will), and I\u2019m joined by my brother and sister Brad and Nancy, and Ryan Ranzino who is like a step-brother. I would like to dedicate this award to my father, Abraham Kleinberg, who passed away last year, he has touched so many people in this industry. He was a guiding light for me and continues to influence. He was a man of few words, but his actions said everything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jared Christensen, CEO of Nova Lighting (formerly known as Hansen Lighting), said in accepting the award that he has been with Hansen Lighting for 20+ years. \u201cWhen I first got into the lighting industry, I remember thinking, \u2018I want to be the best lighting guy there ever was, a wizard of lighting who memorized item numbers and specifications. It didn\u2019t take long before I realized that having long-lasting success is based on relationships. The home d\u00e9cor industry at its core is a relationships-based industry \u2014 and those relationships extend beyond our customers. At Nova Lighting, our success has been shaped by the relationships that we have with our staff \u2013 who go above and beyond \u2013 and by partnerships with our manufacturers. We\u2019ve also been fortunate to have build relationships with many retailers across the nation and in Canada. We all have similar obstacles, and as long as we continue to collaborate together and lean on one another, I know that there is no challenge or obstacle that we can\u2019t overcome together collectively as a group.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
