Longtime owner of King Electric<\/a> in Burlington, N.C., Larry William King passed away on November 22 at age 66 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. According to his obituary, \u00a0\u201cHis passing leaves a hole that cannot be filled but his spirit \u2013 steady, generous, and full of heart \u2013 lives on in everyone who was blessed to have known him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Jeanie King, and his nephew, Neil Robinson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is survived by his wife, Carla; his son, Nick (Caroline); his daughter, Samantha Ferguson (Chad) and their two sons, Reed and Finn; and his daughter, Chandler Autry (Andrew) and their three children, Carson, Easton, and Carter. He is also survived by his sister, Lori Robinson (Brian); and his nephews, Elliot Robinson and Stewart Robinson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor 50 years, Larry dedicated his life\u2019s work to King Electric, where the men he worked alongside were far more than coworkers \u2013 they were his brothers,\u201d his obit stated. \u201cLarry proudly served with the Elon Volunteer Fire Department in his younger years. He devoted time to serving on numerous mission trips, where he could offer not only his skills but also his compassion for others. He was also an accomplished Eagle Scout, a member of St. Marks Church, and loved a good ride with his motorcycle buddies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe cherished the camaraderie he found in the Saturday morning breakfast club and the simple joy of time spent with his fishing buddies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noting his devotion to his family, the obit added, \u201cLarry was married to his high school sweetheart, Carla, for 45 years and they built a beautiful life together. He was the proud dad to his three children who always knew they could count on him for any and everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing brought him more joy and happiness than being \u2018Sparky\u2019 to his five grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to brag about them every chance he got. He shared an unbreakable bond with his big sister, who walked with him through every season. He was \u2018Unc\u2019 to his nephews who he loved to joke around with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo his family, Larry was more than a husband, father, Sparky, and brother. He was their rock to lean on. He showed up to everything and made sure everyone felt cared for. His devotion was absolute and the love they share will forever be one of his greatest legacies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In lieu of flowers, his family asks that friends consider making a donation in his name to St. Jude\u2019s Children\u2019s Research Hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
