{"id":1433,"date":"2025-07-02T19:21:43","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T19:21:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lightingnewsnow.com\/?p=1433"},"modified":"2025-07-02T19:35:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T19:35:08","slug":"leviton-says-it-is-on-track-to-carbon-neutrality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lightingnewsnow.com\/?p=1433","title":{"rendered":"Leviton Says It Is On Track to Achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2030\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>New York-based Leviton has announced significant progress towards its goal of achieving company-wide carbon neutrality by 2030 in its recently released <em><a href=\"http:\/\/leviton.com\/sustainability\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2024 Sustainability Report<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Report reveals a 37% reduction in overall greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions or CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) from a 2021 baseline. As part of Leviton\u2019s CN2030 program, the company has steadily moved towards renewable and clean energy providers and has made investments in certified carbon offset projects for remaining residual emissions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe significant progress we\u2019ve made with our CN2030 program is a testament to the dedication and collective effort of our employees around the world and we\u2019re not finished,\u201d said Daryoush Larizadeh, Leviton\u2019s President &amp; CEO. \u201cAs a leader in lighting, powering and connecting everyday spaces, we recognize our responsibility to not only lower our CO2e emissions but enable our customers to do the same.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leviton\u2019s CN2030 program, announced in 2022, includes an ambitious goal of achieving company-wide carbon neutrality by 2030. Details on the company\u2019s CN2030 progress and other achievements in fiscal year 2024 are included in its third annual sustainability report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional highlights include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Achieved an 11% year-over-year reduction in CO2e emissions from 2023 to 2024.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Reached carbon neutrality at 19 company sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Expanded the Sustainably Smart Packaging program to further reduce jobsite waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Launched a new Zero Waste to Landfill program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Leviton\u2019s Camargo, Mexico facility, which underwent a recent expansion, earned The Green Building Initiative (GBI) Green Globe\u00ae certification, making it the first GBI Green Globe certification in Mexico.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Increased the number of Network Solutions products with Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSustainability is a priority for our company, and the results to-date speak for themselves,\u201d said Ross Goldman, Leviton\u2019s Chief Sustainability Officer and COO of Leviton\u2019s Network Solutions business unit. \u201cI am proud of all our employees and partners who contribute to making our CN2030 program successful.
